GOD’S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE: SALVATION

The Problem:  God is perfect, holy, righteous, and just...and we are not.  Our sin separates us from God and brings death into our lives.  There is nothing we can do to remove the stain of sin.

"As it is written , There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth , there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way , they are together become unprofitable ; there is none that doeth good, no, not one ...For all have sinned , and come short of the glory of God"

(Romans 3:10-12, 23)

"Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened , that it cannot save ; neither his ear heavy , that it cannot hear : But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear ."

(Isaiah 59:1-2)

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."

(Romans 6:23)

The Solution:  God sent his Son to pay the price for our sin.  Jesus was born, lived a perfect and sinless life, willingly gave up his life on the cross, and was resurrected from the dead after three days.  Jesus paid this price so that we can be reconciled to God.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish , but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved . He that believeth on him is not condemned : but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."

(John 3:16-18)

"For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die : yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die . But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."

(Romans 5:6-8)

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."

(2 Corinthians 5:21)

The Answer:  If you believe God's testimony concerning his Son (the Bible), that Jesus is the Son of God and that he died for your sins; that he was buried and rose again, then you are able to be saved.  If you want to accept the full gift of salvation, you must confess to God that you are a sinner, and ask him to be the Lord of your life.  If you have the faith to believe, then his grace will perform its perfect work within your heart.

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. "

(1 John 1:8-9)

"But what saith it ? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is , the word of faith, which we preach ; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved . For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith , Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed . For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved ."

(Romans 10:8-13)

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast ."

(Ephesians 2:8-9)
