Pilgrim Ministries
Statement of Faith
We believe that The Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the basis for any statement of faith. This Ministry subscribes to the doctrinal statements contained and found within The Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention.
Relationships
This Ministry recognizes all churches centered in Jesus Christ's death, burial, resurrection and the atonement for our sins through the shedding of His blood on the cross through which we have the opportunity to become a child of God and be saved through our faith in that finished work are truly a New Testament Church. Pilgrim Ministries will focus our efforts to teach these men how to choose a church to unite with after completing the ministry that is biblical based, doctrinally sound, and will help them continue to learn, grow, and serve God as they return home.
Mission Statement
Pilgrim Ministries is a faith-based ministry centered on leading men to Jesus Christ and then disicipling them on how to walk in freedom in that personal relationship with Christ. Pilgrim Ministries teaches these men the responsibility of becoming a productive citizen and Christian in the surrounding communities. We believe that true freedom from the bondage of drugs and alcohol can only be found in Jesus Christ and God's Holy Word. The Bible says … “If ye continue in my word, then you are my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32). The Bible says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17). The Bible says “Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.” (Romans 6:18). Our true goal here is to produce bond servants of Christ. A bond servant was a servant who loved his master so much that at the end of his time of service instead of becoming a freeman he gave up his freedom willfully to stay on as a servant to his master. This is exactly what Christ desires from us. (1 Corinthians 7:20-23). We encourage these men to live the exchanged life--the dying out of one's self to allow Christ to live the live he wants to live in and through us. We are not trying to just help men gain freedom from the bondage of drugs and alcohol; we are trying to encourage a life that is surrendered to Christ every day, submitted to the Holy Spirit of God's guidance and convictions, true deliverance and freedom, and becoming a productive servant and disciple of the Lord Jesus Christ. Pilgrim Ministries desires for these men to enter back into society with a foundation in biblical based instruction and discipleship concerning individual and community responsibilities, finances, family, faith, serving in both the Church and community with leadership under the authority of God.
