GOD'S PLAN FOR YOUR LIFE - SALVATION

A person has to realize they are a sinner.

Romans 3:23 For ALL have sinned and COME SHORT of the glory of God

A person has to realize what the penalty for sin is.

Romans 6:23a For the wages (PENALTY) of sin is DEATH

A person must understand that one day we will all give an account.

Hebrews 9:27 And is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the JUDGMENT.

What does all this mean, I don't understand - I am a good person?

Romans 3:10 As it is written, there is NONE righteous, no NOT ONE.

Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away (FROM GOD) .

If that's the case then am I doomed?

Romans 5:8 But God commended his love towards us in that while we were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US.

John 3:16 For GOD so LOVED the world (YOU AND ME), that HE GAVE his only begotten SON, that WHOSOEVER (YOU AND ME)  BELIEVES IN HIM should not perish, but (YOU AND ME SHALL) have EVERLASTING LIFE (SALVATION).

Tell me more about God's Love?

Romans 6:23b But the GIFT of God is ETERNAL LIFE through JESUS CHRIST our LORD.

Ephesians 2:8-9 For by GRACE are ye SAVED through FAITH; and that not of yourselves: it is the GIFT of God. Not of works lest any man should boast.

What if I do not want to accept God's Love?  Is there any other way?

John 3:18 He that BELIEVES on him (JESUS) is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven (JESUS) given among men, whereby we must be SAVED.

How can I receive this love from God?

How can I have a relationship with Jesus?

Romans 10:9-10 That if you CONFESS with your MOUTH the LORD JESUS, and shall BELIEVE in your HEART that God has raised him from the dead, you SHALL BE SAVED. For with the HEART man BELIEVES unto RIGHTEOSNESS; and with the MOUTH CONFESSION is made unto SALVATION.

Is that all there is to it?  Got to be more to it than that?

Romans 10:13 For WHOSOEVER SHALL CALL UPON the NAME of the LORD SHALL BE SAVED.

I want to be saved; I know I need Jesus, but I am still having some trouble understanding; I need a little help, I want to make sure I get this right.

I can't pray a prayer for you. It is by faith that one gets saved. Remember first you must believe that you are a sinner in need of a savior.  You realize that without Jesus paying the price for your sins, that you will have to pay the price for them yourself. The price for that sin is death, eternal separation from God in Hell. Here comes the easy part.  If you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins, then you simply tell God that and ask him to save you. If you believe that God sent his son to die for you; If you trust that Jesus death on the cross was sufficient payment for your sins; then by faith you place that in your heart and by faith you ask God to save you and by faith you accept God at his word that he will save you and will keep you.

Have I really been saved?  Is it that easy?

Yes, it is really that easy.  Remember "by grace through faith you are saved and that not of yourselves".  God did all the work. It was your job to believe him, trust him and accept him. If you really believe that Jesus died for your sins and you really trust Jesus to save you from your sin, then accept God at his word.  He really did save you. That is faith - believing, trusting and accepting God at his word. It is a done deal. Get in church. Get Baptized. Start reading your Bible. Begin praying daily.  Listen for God's small still voice to speak to you and get busy serving and glorifying the God that just saved you!

What happens next?  Where do I go from here?

First, find a Bible believing, Bible teaching, God serving church and join them.

"Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised ;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching ."

(Hebrews 10:23-25)

Next, follow the Lord Jesus in water baptism by emersion as your first act of obedience and public profession of faith.

"But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized , both men and women."

(Acts 8:12)

"And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said , See , here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized ? And Philip said , If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest . And he answered and said , I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. And he commanded the chariot to stand still : and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him."

(Acts 8:36-38)

Begin reading God's Word (the Bible) daily, meditating or listening for God to speak to you through it, and spend time with God in prayer every day.

"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

(2 Timothy 2:15)

"Till I come , give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all."

(1 Timothy 4:13-15)

"Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby : If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious."

(1 Peter 2:1-3)

"According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound , they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ."

(2 Peter 1:3-8)

"Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish."

(Ephesians 5:25-27)

"Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."

(Philippians 4:6-7)
